Maths Race Day

Year 8 students get the opportunity to spend the day at one of the local race courses where they look at the importance of mathematics and how it is used in real life situations.

The day is planned and delivered by the charity ‘Racing to School’, formally known as ‘British Horseracing Education and Standards Trust ~ BHEST’. Where students get to participate in fun activities and then watch the first race of the day before returning to school.

‘I thought the day was excellent because it was interesting and fun.’

‘I really enjoyed today but mostly watching the horse race. I learnt about imperial measures and how light the jockeys have to be.’

Computing

Within the computing department all pupils are able to use the facilities at any point in the day.
