All Year 10 students go on a two week Work Experience, this allows a taste of the transition from the class room to the real world. At Queen Elizabeth High School we give the pupils this extended 2 weeks to get a far better understanding of the demands needed.
We aim to support pupils in the best possible way and the two weeks allows them to hone skills which employers in the future will look for. for example
- Communication Skills
- Time Management
- Self motivation
- Target Setting
- Deadline management
- Team Work
- Independance.
With support from Careers advice, pupils are encouraged to look at industries they would like to move into in the future. This will hopefully give them a true reflection of what is expected of them and support the route they wish to follow, whether apprentership or university when they leave us the following year.
